雀莉家大約是2023年投入到飲控領域的營養食材開發,我們的家人開始有營養管理需求,涵蓋了熱量、碳水、鈉、人工添加物、升糖指數、營養密度..等指標,理解並不困難,相關飲控食材供應鏈的建置則相當具挑戰,其中【藻類】是飲控營養食材中新興的重點題目,雀莉家2024年開始至日本取經,參訪各大食品展,希望能在藻類機能飲食大國得到些什麼,我們看見日本將藻類營養應用在餐桌各種料理,但我們苦於進口價格過高,無法達成我們普惠營養的目標,終於,我們很幸運的在台灣遇見一群年輕人,bluuoo,海大畢業的他們,年輕就離不開海洋,他們正在努力發掘海洋藻類的價值,從台灣特有種的紅藻藻類養殖、生產萃取到料理開發應用,bluuoo,絕對是值得矚目的年輕新品牌。
藻類,為什個受到雀莉家重視,答案就是藻類的藻多醣(Algal Polysaccharides),藻多醣是從海藻中提取出來的「多醣體」(polysaccharides),藻類被視作機能的重要天然食材選擇,主要是其複合性的營養價值,包含了膳食纖維、極低的熱量、微量礦物質的載體以及近來備受關注提供益菌養份的益生質價值,飲控上,藻類可以說是綜合分數很高的食材選擇。

l bluuoo: Algal Polysaccharides — Superfood from the Ocean l
Around 2023, M’S CHERRY began investing in the development of nutritional ingredients for dietary control. Within our own families, we started to see a growing need for nutrition management—covering metrics such as calories, carbohydrates, sodium, artificial additives, glycemic index, and nutrient density. While understanding these indicators is not difficult, building the supply chain for dietary-control ingredients has proven to be quite a challenge.
Among them, algae has emerged as one of the most promising topics in the field of nutrition for dietary control. Beginning in 2024, M’S CHERRY traveled to Japan to learn from the industry—visiting major food exhibitions and observing how Japan, as a global leader in functional food innovation, integrates algal nutrition into everyday cuisine. However, we faced a key difficulty: import prices were prohibitively high, making it hard for us to achieve our goal of nutritional inclusiveness.
Fortunately, we were lucky to meet a group of passionate young people in Taiwan—bluuoo.
Graduates from the National Taiwan Ocean University, they have an unbreakable bond with the sea. They are working tirelessly to unlock the value of marine algae, from cultivating and extracting Taiwan’s native red algae species to developing creative culinary applications. bluuoo is undoubtedly a young and remarkable new brand to watch.
Why does M’S CHERRY place such emphasis on algae?
The answer lies in algal polysaccharides—the key functional compounds derived from seaweed.
These polysaccharides, extracted from marine algae, are a complex nutritional powerhouse containing dietary fiber, extremely low calories, micronutrient-binding capacity, and, increasingly, prebiotic properties that nourish beneficial gut bacteria.
From a dietary-control perspective, algae stands out as one of the most well-balanced and versatile natural food ingredients available.
More than 50% of the oxygen on Earth originates from algae’s natural photosynthesis.

Through cultivation and restoration efforts, bluuoo is expanding Taiwan’s algal ecosystems, harnessing the power of the ocean to bring forth the ocean’s own superfood.
